Evergreen Nursing Services is currently hiring for a part-time Care Aide for an exceptionally unique and rewarding position working two-to-one with a private client in their renovated, fully equipped properties in both West Vancouver (Year-round) & Langley (Seasonal; summer weekends).

We're hiring: A compassionate and reliable Care Aide who have (1) experience in Spinal Cord Injury and/or (2) a strong interest in learning. We are expanding a healthcare team to provide 24-hour in-home care for a client who sustained a high-level spinal cord injury in 2021. 

Role Description:

As the Sunday Care Aide, your responsibilities would include but not limited to the following: 

• Providing personal care (skin care, grooming, shaving, showering, feeding, emptying ileostomy and catheter bags, showering, etc.)
• Cleaning Equipment
• Homemaking tasks (meal preparation, laundry, changing bed linens, sweeping/vacuuming, general tidying, etc). 
• Supporting the on-shift nurse with repositioning, cough assist machine, and mechanical transfers
• Assisting the client with mobilizing in power wheelchair

Schedule Available: 

• Weekly, Every Sunday 10-hour Day Shifts (08:30-18:30) - Ongoing

*Day shifts will always have two care team members working, typically one LPN and/or RN working with a Care Aide together for 10 of the 12 hour shifts.

Location: The client primarily lives in West Vancouver; however, lives part-time in Langley over the summer months (i.e. Wednesdays to Sundays - fuel subsidies available). We are looking to create a team that consistently supports care in both locations. Travel subsidies and accommodations may be available if needed. 

Anticipated Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Compensation:

• Care Aide Pay Scale: $29.50 to $33.50 per hour, (Note: these rates include a $3.50/hour Sunday day shift only incentive); specific rate levels are dependant on experience
• 5% of annual salary provided towards RRSP
• 5 paid wellness days/year
• 3 weeks vacation per year 
• Opportunities to pick up additional day and/or night coverage shifts as available

Paid Training Provided:

• In-person Training: Ample training shifts with experienced nurses and care aides provided
• Online Training: Company and Client Specific Training Modules
• Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program (PROP) Training
• Access to team of nurses for support

Applicant Requirements: 

• Certified Care Aide or Internationally Trained Registered Nurse
• BC Registry Number
• Compassionate, collaborative and dedicated - can work independently and in a team
• Interest and experience in Spinal Cord Injury & Home Care is an asset
